Lamb Prices Update May 2012

The Twin Falls Auction saw strong demand for light weaned feeder lambs with the best lambs topping $2.03 per pound. This appeared to be local buying for 4-H club lamb prospects. There was a large offering of bummer lambs with prices ranging from $10 to $65 per head. Slaughter lambs were steady.

The latest round of auction results show lamb prices relatively steady as the Easter market time approaches. Feeder lamb prices were a bit softer in Twin Falls but strong In Willard.

Lamb Prices Continue Steady in Twin Falls

The light offering of good lambs were met with steady prices on Saturday at Twin Fall, Idaho. Two bummer lambs brought $65 each and one ewe with a young lamb brought $200. The report from Willard, Utah quoted only a light offering of slaughter lambs with the other categories scarce.
